The game

Built for one more run

A run is short. A character lasts a few evenings. Your account lasts forever.

Roguelite dungeon runs

Every run rolls new rooms, new upgrade drafts and fresh loot, with a Gate boss waiting at the end. Die and you keep your character — you just lose the run.

Progress that sticks

Every level, item and coin is written to the server the moment you earn it. No lost saves, no duped items, no cheaters on the leaderboard.

Co-op with cross-play

One to three players. You on Steam, a friend on iPhone, a stranger from matchmaking on Android — same run, same loot, same town.

Ascension

When a character reaches the top, retire them with honours. Their Spirit, Renown and three chosen upgrades pass on to your next one.

Your arsenal

Any main hand, any off-hand

Wand and shield? Greatsword and tome? Every combination is legal. Boots decide your dash, and your Relic decides your Ultimate.

  • WandFast ranged bolts
  • StaffBeams, orbs and summons
  • Holy StaffHeals and wards the party
  • SwordMelee chains
  • GreatswordTwo-handed sweeps
  • DaggerFast strikes, big crits

Combat

Eight flavours of damage

Every hit stacks a status. Build it up on a boss, then set it off — that is where the big numbers come from.

  • FireBurn, then Ignite
  • FrostChill, Freeze, then Shatter
  • StormShock stacks that Overload
  • PoisonVenom that spreads on death
  • BloodBleed, life leech, executes
  • StoneStagger and armour break
  • HolyWards, healing, cleansing
  • VoidPulls, then Implosion

Between runs

The Trade Hub is full of people

Up to thirty players share the square. Stalls line the edges, someone is showing off a fresh Unique, and your party is waiting by the gate.

Open a shop

Put your spare loot on your own stall. It keeps selling while you are off in a dungeon.

Trade with players

Walk up to any stall and buy with Gold, Fate or Spirit. No auction house, just people and their prices.

Take quests

Pick up quests in town, finish them out in the dungeon, and come back for the reward.

Party up

Form a party in the square or queue for public matchmaking. The whole party moves between town and dungeon together.

Inspect anyone

Tap a player to see their character, their build and their shop. Show off, or take notes.

Town chat, on Discord too

What you say in the square shows up in the Discord town channel, and what they say shows up in the game.

Worlds

Eight worlds, eight ways to die

Each world belongs to one affinity and brings its own enemies, hazards and room layouts. Frostmere's slide lanes stay slippery whichever gate you took in.

Cinder Forge

Bosses

Eight Gate bosses, no shared kits

Every boss has its own moves, its own arena and, in the Mortal Arena, its own table of Uniques that nobody has written down.

Items

Loot worth the run

Every drop is yours alone, and over a hundred Uniques change how a build plays. No gacha, no paid power — the good stuff comes from the dungeon or from another player's stall.

Twelve of the hundred-plus. Every one of them, with its numbers, is in Spiritfate DB.

Personal loot

What drops for you is yours. Nobody in the party can grab it first.

Reforge and infuse

Reroll an item's values with the ranges shown up front. At the top end, infuse it with an affinity or risk it on Awakening.

No paid power

The Spirit Pass and convenience purchases never touch damage, drops or progression.

Seasons

A fresh economy and fresh leaderboards every 8–12 weeks. When a season ends, your characters roll into Standard with everything they own.

Progression

From level 1 to legend

Levels are only the first ladder. Renown, Ascension and the Hall of Spirits are the ones that keep an account growing.

Level 1 to 100

A few evenings of runs takes a fresh character to the cap, drafting a hundred permanent upgrades on the way.

Renown Atlas

A 100-node endgame tree earned in Nightmare. It shapes how you farm — drop rates, keys, run modifiers — not raw damage.

Hall of Spirits

Every character you have ever retired stays on record with their build and their best runs. Your lineage, on the wall.

Spirit Pass

A seasonal reward track with a free lane and paid lanes. Cosmetics and conveniences only, never power.

FAQ

Things people ask us

Is it really free?

Yes. The game, every mode, every item. There is a Spirit Pass with cosmetic and convenience rewards, and a few convenience purchases like extra character slots. None of it affects damage, drops or progression.

Is cross-play real, or cross-play with an asterisk?

Real. Steam, iPhone and Android players are on the same servers and can be in the same party for every run and in the same town instance. There are no platform-only pools.

How do I get into the closed beta?

Join the Discord. Beta keys and build links are handed out there first, and the bug channel is where reports go.

Does beta progress carry over?

During closed beta we may reset characters, items or whole seasons when the design needs it, and we say so ahead of time. Treat beta progress as something that might go away. Your account and linked sign-ins stay.

What happens when I die?

In Demon Gate and Nightmare you lose the run and its unsecured loot, and you keep the character. Only the Mortal Arena bites harder: a full death there destroys the gear you had equipped. Your stash is never touched.

What happens when a season ends?

Your seasonal characters, stash and gold roll into Standard with everything they own. Open market listings are settled, and the seasonal leaderboards are frozen and kept.

Controller? Keyboard? Touch?

All three. Full controller support on every platform, keyboard and mouse on PC, and a touch layout on mobile that you can rearrange.

Can I play alone?

Yes. Every mode works solo. Public matchmaking fills a party if you want company, and premade parties of up to three are always allowed.
